November to Remember

UPDATE: C'mon folks! If there's any blog I'm hoping for some comments/feedback on, it's this one!

There's a lot I want to announce. For starters, the new month means a new Author of the Month. And as such, the honor goes to :iconstmercy2020:

Congratulations stmercy2020! :trophy:

I also wanted to announce something really big for 2011. Remember the Idea Box that only one person has even used? Well it's an idea I wanted to run with. Even now, the exact details haven't been fleshed out yet. FML will be hosting an event that will occur once a year. This event will essentially be an awards ceremony where there will be select categories and certain female muscle stories and series can be eligible to win a certain catagory.

Again, the details haven't been mapped out yet. There are special prizes and recognition to be had here. And while this isn't confirmed yet, I'm aiming for a year's subscription and a custom prize drawing from a volunteering artist for the winner(s), just to name a few. An example category will be Best Ongoing Series.

In any case, before this year is over, you'll be getting the full details. As it stands, there is only a name for it: The Gamma Awards! You can thank :iconbri159: for the idea and name. And while his own series is also called Gamma, the name itself brings about an image of intensified muscle and strength, which FML is all about on the female side of the gender equation.

So c'mon everyone! Let's get those thinking caps on and let me hear some ideas from you! The possibilites are endless! Just CLICK HERE to post an idea you might have for a feature for FML! :)

There is one other thing I need to mention. There are still many authors here who haven't provided a complete list of themes that pertain to all their stories. I'm going to make a list of each author who hasn't provided a list yet. This needs to be done, people. While every story in this group pertains to female muscle, there are other themes and kinks that some may like, while others might find offensive or not to their taste. I want to ensure that all readers are aware of the themes a certain author uses before jumping in. So please, I need that list. Please CLICK HERE for full details and to post your list of themes.

I'm really happy with how far FML has come. And of course, this means more readers for all of your stories that you share here. I'm also very grateful for the points that still sit in my account, which will allow me to purchase another year for the Super Group status. Provided the price doesn't go up by then, I unfortunately am forced to wait for the current one to expire before I can extend it. Thanks again everyone! :)

I think that about covers it all.

In case you aren't certain, stories that you wish to share/feature here do not have to specifically feature female muscle. As long as the female character(s) exhibit exceptional strength beyond the norm, said story is welcome here. So in short, it can have female muscle, strength, or both! That is all. :aww:

Here's the interview with :iconstmercy2020:

Enjoy! :)

Rinji: What got you into the whole female muscle genre?

stmercy2020: I honestly don't remember precisely what got me into female muscle. I'm fairly sure it was a combination of something visual, probably a strong woman in a comic book, and something pseudo-literary like the Tika Wayland Majere and the Kitiara characters from the Dragonlance novels. In fact, I remember one of the Dragonlance Prelude novels in which Sturm and Kitiara ended up on one of Krynn's moons and Kitiara was endowed with superhuman strength. I don't remember if that was before or after I started sneaking off to the local news seller to ogle copies of Women's Physique World and Female Bodybuilding, but it had to be pretty early in the day...

Rinji: Of all your stories, which story are you particularly proud of?

stmercy2020: Well, purely from an 'it got me started' standpoint, I'm pretty pleased with One Shot. It's not the best I've ever written, but it was the very first. And for something that was pretty firmly tongue-in-cheek, I thought it was okay. Overall, though, I'd have to say that I'm torn between Chapter 5 and Chapter 11 of the Sylph Saga (Assisted Compositions and Metal Fatigue, respectively), because they both managed to use mega strength in slightly different ways and they didn't feel totally cliche- I can still go back and read them and really enjoy them, even when I'm not researching for something I'm trying to put down on paper.

Rinji: If you can meet any one of the characters you have created, which one would it be?

stmercy2020: Honestly? Probably Wade- we're a lot alike and we like a lot of the same sorts of things- but if you're referring to women, then I'd have to go with Kalida. I realize she's kind of overshadowed by Sylph, but I just sort of have a soft spot for her. I really hope I can someday see my way clear to getting her someone special in her life (especially since Wade didn't work out...)

Rinji: Have you ever met a female muscle woman in real life? And if so, what was it like?

stmercy2020: Not per se, no, but I've known and trained a lot of athletic women. It's one of my secret fantasies to be able to train with a woman who's really into building muscle, but, so far, it hasn't happened.

Rinji: Are there any specific female muscle authors that you particularly admire and/or are inspired by?

stmercy2020: There's very little that I find I can't enjoy- pretty much all that I need is a woman who is strong and confident and I'm pretty happy; I won't even claim that I hate it when the protagonist is a bad girl. My favorite at the moment, though, is probably :iconjnw550:'s More Than Mortal series, despite (because of?) how completely over the top they are.

Similarly, I really got a kick out of HappiestInShadow's Modifications storyline and demented20's Power & Fury series.

Finally, Paul Smith was really the author that first got me thinking of writing my own FMG stories, and I go back to those stories whenever I want something a little light and fun.

Rinji: Can you tell us of any upcoming stories you have planned?

stmercy2020: I have a couple irons on the fire if I can ever get ahead enough with my grading to have a couple hours to rub together. The one I think is likely to be next is the other half of On the Rebound, in which Elke's former fiancee shows up. Elke also gets to play around showing Chase how easy it is for her to do feats similar to those shown in Hancock and My Super Ex-Girlfriend after they watch a double feature at a drive-in movie...

Rinji: Is there anything else you'd like to mention before we go?

stmercy2020: I really do appreciate comments and even criticism on all of my work; I may not always agree with it- as an author, that's my prerogative, but I always read it and try to respond. I'm less good about responding to faves and watches, although I appreciate those, too.

Rinji: Thank you for being part of the Female Muscle Library! And congratulations on becoming Author of the Month!

Calling ALL FML Authors! Need List of Story Themes

UPDATE: Got the remaining names up. If you're in the list below, it means I still need your list of themes that make up your stories. Also, please don't post future themes, only current ones. Whenever you add a new theme, simply post the additional theme here. Thank you.

After a brief exchange via note over the content of one of the stories by one of the authors here, I've decided to take measures to not only expand a bit further, but to also prevent anyone from "accidentally" coming across a story that contains certain additional themes, in addition to the obligatory female muscle, that they aren't into or even outright dislike.

An example of such a theme is femdom, which is a woman who degrades and humiliates a man, treating him as an inferior being. I myself am not into femdom one bit. But as a group that promotes female muscle stories in all its facets, it would be wrong of me to discriminate against certain stories that may contain such additional themes (fetishes).

So what I'm going to do is begin building upon all those profiles I set up on everyone's Gallery folders. As it stands, all they contain is your respective icons that link to your own dA pages and your usernames. But it's a section I've been meaning to expand upon to truly make it into a profile.

So to start with, I'm asking every single author who has his/her own section within FML to reply to this blog telling me the additional themes that you include in your stories. You may also send me this information via Note if you prefer. It'll be assumed that not all your stories contain such content, but that those themes are to be expected in them.

Examples include:
Femdom
Macros
Sex
Anthros/Furries
Lesbians
Male Muscle Growth
Violence
Mild Violence (Non-graphic)
Gore
(Muscle) Inflation
Muscle Expansion
Breast Expansion
Spinach
Muscle Worship
S & M
Bondage
Etc

Nudity, feats of strength, and muscle growth aren't really necessary, since they all pretty much go hand in hand with most female muscle stories. However, you may still include them in your list if you still wish to.

Try to include as many themes/fetishes as you can think of, that you use at one point or another, in any or all of your stories. If down the road, you remember more, then let me know under this blog or via Note. At the very least, include the ones you use frequently if you aren't able to remember the lesser used ones. If I come across a story with a theme/fetish that isn't currently listed under your Profile, it'll be added.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but it's become necessary. So whenever you can, please take the time to provide the list either in the comments under this blog or via Note. Evetually I'll end up individually contacting each author, who hasn't replied to this, in a few days. Thank you.

The following authors still need to provide a list of themes that comprise their stories:
:iconaldebaran086: :iconblackwaterwolf: :iconbustyshinrasoldier: :iconchachibenji: :iconericdee24: :iconfellania-bloodclaw: :iconfemmusclefan05: :iconhemisphere: :iconmegster02: :iconj2001:
