Here we go with the interview!
Vince: Welcome to the August 2010 Author of the Month interview! With me at this time is our fearless leader,
RinjiPantera, formerly known as thephoenixrisen!
Rinji: Konnichiwa!
Vince: So, Kevin, what made you come up with the Rinji Pantera persona?
Rinji: I've been known as Kevin Phoenix for nearly 15 years. When I joined deviantART, I naturally tried to register as KevinPhoenix. When that didn't work, I tried every variation I could think of. I then tried every variation of usernames with the word phoenix in it. Every good one was already taken. So I ended up settling on thephoenixrisen. Well ever since I joined FurAffinity, and got into the whole anthro thing, I eventually decided it would be nice to forge a new identity for myself. With some encouragement and suggestions from a friend of mine, I came up with Rinji. And since my fursona was a panther, I decided on Pantera as a last name. Threw in various characteristics, and you got what I am now. Of course, I registered that name on deviantART as well, but since you got me a year's subscription for thephoenixrisen, I chose to wait until it expired to start officially start using RinjiPantera.
Vince: For those of us that don't know all the details, could you explain a fursona to us?
Rinji: A fursona is pretty self-explanatory. It's a manifestation of yourself in anthro (furry) form, with traits, body type, and characteristics that you can customize yourself with. Surely, I shouldn't need to explain what an anthro is.
Vince: Not after the Anthro story series.
Rinji: That's certainly true!
Vince: What inspired you to write stories about muscular women?
Rinji: I remember, it was back in November of 2007. I was already an active participant of the Diana the Valkyrie website. I enjoyed not only the morphs, art, and such; but also the stories. One of the authors that stood out greatly as having some of the best stories, in my opinion, that I've ever read was Jeremy Wilson. He's known as

here on deviantART. It was because of him that I was driven to try my hand at female muscle stories.
Vince: I seem to notice that some of those stories have a sub-theme of their own, namely spinach and somewhat explosive growth from it. What brought that on?
Rinji: The fact that those are some of my kinks when it comes to female muscle. There are many catalysts for women growing hugely muscular. I used to watch Popeye cartoons, and anytime he downed the spinach and flexed his infamous mega bicep, I'd fantasize a woman doing that. Olive Oyl ate spinach a couple times here and there in the show, but she never flexed anything big. And while her strength was sexy, I wanted to see her flex a bicep as big as Popeye's. As for explosive growth, same concept. Another theme of mine is superhuman strength. I love a woman who may not be necessarily massively muscular, but has strength that vastly defies her appearance. And of course, I have a thing for superstrong feminine robots, androids, and the like, hence
My Super Android Girlfriend. I actually plan to redo that story, but with her being less muscular but retaining the strength from the original story.
Vince: I guess that is beacuse she didn't need the megamuscles and mega-breasts to show off her strength and such?
Rinji: Indeed. Since I completed it, I started to wish that I had just kept Synthia with more of an athletic appearance with noticable muscletone. I just think it's a turn-on to have a woman who is slender or athletic, but has strength that rivals or even surpasses Superman.
Vince: Can you tell us what other projects you're working on, besides the remake of My Super Android Girlfriend?
Rinji: Well I'm giving commissioned stories another try. But it's a really slow process, so it's one at a time. But as far as my own projects go, I'm trying to finish a story called Orgy of Spinach, which features Sally and Stacy of
A Sailor's Legacy. I also plan to do two other stories featuring epic battles on a planetary scale. One features Pachua going up against a character by PS286 called Oblivion, who is essentially an evil version of Pachua, and with wings. There's something about her that really clicked with me and I thought it would be nice to have two immensely strong and muscular female dragons battling it out. The other story will feature Rinji going up against
