After some convincing both from myself and others, I decided to bring back the interviews that were customary with the Author of the Month. Since he didn't get one, I personally went and did an interview with him to make up for it. It'll be the first one posted. And as if it wasn't obvious, it's late being posted. So to give an extended focus back on April's AotM, here's an interview with ![hemisphere :iconhemisphere:]()
Rinji: Welcome everyone to the return of the Author of the Month interviews! I was going to drop them, but I had people with pitchforks outside my front door ready to put me out to pasture if I didn't bring the interviews back. So as an apology to those I let down, I'm doing a double interview starting with the man behind the weredragon, Xendrian Maranmore! Well Xenrian, it seems that your time as AotM has been extended in a way, as my way of making up for not doing this sooner. I'm glad you were still willing to join me for this!
Xendrian: Thanks. I've had personal obligations myself with the studio and with Maidens 2010 coming around. I've been busy myself, but was lucky to have the time to make this interview.
Rinji: Well it seems that things have a way of working out. So let's get started, shall we? So first off, just what is Might of Maidens all about, for those unfamiliar with it?
Xendrian: Well Might of Maidens is a competition started back in 2003 when DocWolph, of the Universal Observatory, wanted to start a contest featuring the best in species that can show off their amazing physiques. Back then, it was mostly his girls that filled the stage and it really caught on the attention of the female muscle-loving public. As time moved on, so did the motion of the competitions which had ranged from being showcases to actual competitions. 2003 and 2006 didn't have winners because of the creator calling it quits in the end, but 2008 and 2009 there were real entries coming in from other artists who wanted to show their girls on the stage and til this day, 2008 was a really great year.
Rinji: I'm familiar with DocWolph, in fact his was some of the first female muscle art I've seen since diving headfirst into the genre. Well it certainly seems like the contest is heading in many new directions with each new year. This year, you plan to showcase Best Body and Original Swimwear, am I correct?
Xendrian: Yes, that's the idea behind this years theme, which is called "Bikinirama". I mean why does it have to always be about the buff bodies where there should be focus also on what they're wearing, and then you see that bikini designs are getting more and more elaborate and even more sexy. So for this year, why not have the woman with the best buff bod have the best looking suimsuit ever. For this year you can win in either two areas, or both.
Rinji: Well I think that's a great idea as far as diversity goes! So moving on, you've developed a slew of original characters. Of course Xendrian himself and Launa Viander are one of the most well known. And of course, there is also the rising fan favorite, Sabrina Breckenridge. Could you comment on a couple or so others that you particularly like?
Xendrian: Well I still would hold a historical candle to my dragoness, Zenaya, who stands as my very first character when I started getting myself into the fandom. Her species was back when Interrealm wasn't in my mind until somewhere around 2003 or 2004, I guess. Then there was Airlenn who is my first non-furry but still non-human character without giant muscles, which is mostly the recurring theme with my characters. But if I truly want to take stock in pinpointing an actual fave, then that's an impossibility.
Rinji: I understand. As I said, you have quite an impressive array of characters. Let's focus on Launa Viander for a moment. You have a running series centered around her, chronicling everything from her feline habits to her suped up body. There's even a special about the source of her muscles, Ooau Tea. So my question is, what can we expect, in general, in future chapters of this ongoing series?
Xendrian: Well as of right now, I'm kind of struggling to finish off the season 2 finale and *spoiler alert* you're gonna see Launa in god's wrath mode. And in the upcoming season 3, there will be two landmark anthologies revolving around Launa's journey in Asia and Sabrina's learning of her superwere heritage that goes back for thousands of years. For Azrealle, it will be a more dramatic turn when she discovers that she isn't alone in this world. That is what I got cooking up before I really go in for the kill with the episodes "Temptation Waits" and "Only Human" And speaking of which, when I c...
